Disc Couplings are used in heavy duty, slow to medium speed applications where high starting torque, torque reversals, continuous alternating torques, and/or shock loads are present. Examples include centrifugal pumps, compressors, ventilators, generators, turbines, electric motors, paper machines, machine tools, cooling towers, and printing machine.
The simple form of the Disc Couplings enables quick installation. The center plate, generally an open lug type, minimizes the space required for installation while providing sufficient clearance for assembly. The central member provides excellent dynamic balance, which improves the life of the couplings. Disc Couplings are virtually free from periodic maintenance, and it does not require lubrication.
